What drives the cost
- How much of the line is damaged: one spot, several, or all of it
- Depth, and soil or rock conditions
- What is above it: lawn, landscaping, a driveway, a patio or the house
- Method: open trench, spot repair, pipe lining or pipe bursting
- Whether the work reaches the city connection or the street
- Permits, inspections and surface restoration
Why the inspection comes first
A recorded camera inspection with the damage located on the surface is what makes an accurate quote possible. Without it, a quote is a guess about what is underground.
Trenchless and traditional
Trenchless methods can cost more for the work in the pipe but less to restore the surface above it. Comparing the total, including landscaping and concrete, gives the truer picture.
